Short answer: Solis and Lumina both create personalized narrated visualizations. Solis combines them with affirmations, voice and tone controls, and an AI coach. Lumina centers an evolving story of your dream life, held together by a Dream Life File you can review and correct.
Both apps use personal context. Solis says its sessions draw on your goals, values, identity, and preferences. With Lumina, you can also review and correct the details carried into later Dreams. Look at how you want that context to develop over time.

The clearest difference is visible memory
Lumina's Dream Life File keeps your goals alongside the people, tensions, desired scenes, language, and other details that shape a Daily Dream. Learned details retain their source and confidence. You can correct them, and your reaction to a Dream can influence what later stories use.
Solis also says its sessions become more personal. Its public listing emphasizes configurable visualizations, affirmations, and coaching. Choose based on the experience you want, not on a claim that one app personalizes and the other does not.
Where your information goes
Lumina does not require a separate account. Saved journal content and the Dream Life File stay on your device or in your personal iCloud backup. AI features still use named cloud providers: the context needed for generation goes to Venice AI under Lumina's stated zero-retention setup, and final narration text goes to ElevenLabs. Lumina also discloses advertising measurement. Read the Lumina Privacy Policy for the exact boundaries.
The privacy policy linked from Solis's App Store listing describes an account and server-side storage of profile information, generated visualizations and affirmations, and journal entries in its self-hosted Supabase database. That is a different storage model, not a claim that either app is unsafe. Privacy here means understanding what is stored, what is sent for generation, and which account you need. It does not mean every feature runs offline.
Which one fits you?
- Choose Solis if an AI coach, custom affirmations, and direct voice or tone controls are central to the practice you want.
- Choose Lumina if you want each visualization to join an ongoing dream-life story and you want to see and correct the memory shaping what comes next.
