Summary: Your journal data stays on your device and your personal iCloud. We don't collect, store, or have access to your journal entries. With your permission, Lumina may use limited app event data to measure ads for Lumina.

Introduction

Lumina ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Don't Collect

We believe your journal is deeply personal. That's why:

Journal entries are stored only on your device and in your personal iCloud account
We have no servers that store your journal content
We cannot read your entries
We do not require an account or login

Data Storage

Your data is stored in two places, both controlled by you:

Local Device Storage: Your entries are saved directly on your iPhone or iPad
iCloud: If you're signed into iCloud, your entries are automatically backed up to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service

This means your data syncs across your devices and persists if you reinstall the app, but only you have access to it through your Apple ID.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Apple CloudKit: For secure iCloud backup and sync (governed by Apple's privacy policy)
RevenueCat: For managing subscriptions. RevenueCat receives anonymized purchase data from Apple but does not have access to your journal content
Venice AI: If you use the AI chat feature (Premium), your messages and relevant journal context are sent to Venice AI to generate responses. Venice AI is designed for private AI processing and does not store your conversations or journal data.
Meta App Events: For measuring Lumina ad performance and app installs on Meta platforms. Meta may receive limited app event information such as app launch, install attribution, device identifiers where permitted, and subscription-related events. Meta does not receive your journal entries.

Advertising Measurement and Tracking

Lumina uses Meta App Events to understand whether ads for Lumina lead to app installs, app launches, subscriptions, or other app activity. This helps us measure and improve our advertising.

On iOS, Lumina asks for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before enabling advertiser tracking. If you decline, we do not enable Meta advertiser tracking for your device. You can change this choice later in iOS Settings.

We do not share your journal entries, AI chat content, birth chart details, photos, or other private journal content with Meta for advertising.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store payment information.

Children's Privacy

Lumina is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
